Welcome to the pamphlet. the pamphlet is a local art zine. featuring fine art. the pamphlet will give a qualified local art critique., in selfless service to our community. All critics, artists and curators are invited to contribute to the editors with their comments about art.

A zine is a self-published, non commercial publication published in small editions. As for content, a zine can span from obscure fan cultures to politics. Since the zine has not gone through the institutional processes of the art world, it is raw. and: Uh, baby, we like it raw! :

the pamphlet is created in a mode or state of mind where the worries of competition, acclaim and social promotion do not interfere, because the pamphlet operates outside of commercial and institutional interests. Thus, this zine represents the possibility to work in an open feild, across borders – all in a one-handed reading material format.

the pamphlet is distributed for free – In support of our local artists.  the pamphlet is not academic. but in direct style (why? see 10 ways to make anyone hate art history) the pamphlet is published at an irregular basis since the art people are so unreliable, however approx. every 2 months.

the pamphlet can be found in obvious places such as exhibition spaces and museums, but if you’re lucky, you can also find us in busses, kebab joints, trash cans, at bodegas and at schools.
